Sierra Ridgeline Cabin

Peaceful, Private, Pet-Friendly, Perfect

We are taking reservations for a very private accommodation in the Sierra foothills close to wineries and skiing. We are presently completing renovations on a two story, cedar lined cabin which has an acre of land, no close neighbors, and spectacular views of the forest and the San Joaquin Valley from 3200 feet. From early spring until late fall, this area has no snow but is only 40 minutes from Kirkwood ski area and less than 40 minutes from dozens of wineries in Amador and El Dorado county, the Shenandoah Valley wineries and the Fair Play wineries.

The cabin has been lovingly restored with all wood interiors to convey the feeling of a dacha, a European country cottage. It has two bedrooms and a half bath upstairs and a large living room with kitchen, fireplace and handicapped accessible tile bath downstairs. We have used colorful textiles and quality wood and leather furnishings and art to give the house a sophisticated but relaxed feeling. The kitchen is completely equipped for the serious cook with dinnerware and flatware to serve eight, a large refrigerator and freezer and a top of the line range with electronic controls. We have omitted a microwave but you are welcome to bring one.

The cabin is situated about five miles from the El Dorado National forest boundary and about a half hour from the small town of Plymouth, or forty minutes from Placerville.  Jackson, California, to the south, is about 50 minutes away and has full services. In the area are many wineries, some only ten minutes away. There is caving, historical touring of the Sutter Creek area, antiquing in Jackson and Placerville, fishing in nearby creeks and reservoirs and scenery ranging from peaceful to spectacular in every direction.

We allow pets, and your well behaved dogs are welcome in the house or in our 20 foot kennel under the deck. There is plenty of parking for cars, trailers and even boats and horse trailers. We can provide some accommodations for horses by special arrangement.

We guarantee that your time will be  peaceful, quiet, and pleasing. We will do everything we can to help you plan your stay and get the most out of our location. We suggest you browse the internet for ideas about dining and activities. Several of the local bed and breakfast establishments have long lists of suggestions for a day or an evening out.

We are still finishing renovations and landscaping, and some minor projects may remain undone as we open this spring, but we think you will appreciate our efforts. Come and stay, and grow with us.
